Eligibility Requirements
Licensed N.Y.C. Teachers or Guidance counselor – English/Math/Science/Social Studies/Art
Selection Criteria
1. At least one year of successful teaching experience at the High School for Construction Trades, Engineering, and Architecture as evidenced in Advanced (Measures of Teacher Practice) Currently effective or highly effective as evidence in Advanced.
2. Excellent attendance and punctuality.
3. Excellent administration and organization skills.
4. Success in building positive relationships with students
Duties & Responsibilities
● Meet with each student on a regular basis
● Regularly review student progress in all classes and follow up as needed
● Communicate regularly with students’ teachers, parents, guidance counselor, grade team lead, Executive Director of Student Support and Intervention, and Assistant Principal
● Maintain logs of interventions provided and outcomes
Work Schedule
If you are mentoring 1-3 students: 2 hours per week: Ongoing throughout the year fromSeptember 2026 - June 2027 (after and/or before school)
If you are mentoring 4 or more students: 3 hours per week: Ongoing throughout the year fromSeptember 2026 - June 2027 (after and/or before school)
Pay
Per session rates as per UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement (subject to funding availability)
The pay rate is dependent on the contractual designation and the relevant union or organization, as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
