Selection Criteria
1. One or more years of successful teaching experience at the High School for Construction Trades, Engineering, Architecture Currently effective or highly effective as evidence in Advanced.
2. Possess a strong knowledge and understanding of the Danielson Framework for Teaching with the ability to provide teachers with suggestions in best practices in pedagogy 3. Ability to model the aforementioned practices for teachers in their lab classrooms as needed 4. Ability to coach teachers and demonstrated success in collaborating with students, teachers, administrators, parents, and support staff. 5. Experience with interdisciplinary planning. 6. Experience with teaching and implementing effective strategies for writing 7. Support the mission of the school. 8. Good punctuality and attendance record.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Demonstrates effective and or highly effective practice in the classroom as it relates to DFFT 2. Is well versed in the Danielson Framework for Teaching
3. Hosts lab classroom visits - for dept members and engage in debriefing sessions with teachers and administrators
4. Demonstrates reciprocal respect and health relationships with teachers and administrators
5. Demonstrates knowledge of content area and pedagogy (Instructional Practices)
6. Demonstrates an understanding and application/ alignment of content area standards, CCLS, and or Next Generation Standards
7.Serves as a resource to administrators to assist in creating a culture of continuous learning and improvement
8.Serves as a resource for department members
9.Attend and engage in outside professional development workshops to further grow in capacity and knowledge
10.Is an advocate for the success of all student groups. Have a practicing and working knowledge of best practices and developments within his/her department's content area
11 .Be able to analyze and interpret student data to address gaps in teaching and learning
12.Attend meetings with administration to go over important information, policies, documents, and protocols
13.Conduct department meetings and turn-keying information from administration to department members
14.Planning and facilitating some professional development sessions that address the needs of teachers and students based on research data.
15.Conduct and coordinate efforts to inventory departmental materials and equipment
16.Submits department budget request and discusses the allocation of resources
17.Other tasks deemed necessary and aligned with the objectives of this position
18.Collaborate regularly with your respective supervisor in implementing the above and in determining overall department goals.
