Selection Criteria
● Five (5) or fewer years of teaching experience or newly appointed to the High School for Construction Trades, Engineering & Architecture.
● Willingness to engage in reflective practice and professional learning.
● Commitment to developing instructional planning, classroom management, and data-driven teaching skills.
● Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with peers and facilitators .
Duties & Responsibilities
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Attend and actively participate in all New Teacher Study Group sessions.
● Engage in discussions and professional learning activities focused on Nelson, lesson coherence, questioning, and integrity in planning.
● Reflect on classroom practice and share strategies that promote student engagement and learning.
● Collaborate with colleagues to refine instructional practices and build a professional community of support.
● Implement strategies and feedback discussed in sessions and provide evidence of
Work Schedule
● Total Hours: 20 Hours ● Schedule: 1 session each month for 2 hours.
Pay
Per session rates as per UFT Collective Bargaining Agreement (subject to funding availability).
The pay rate is dependent on the contractual designation and the relevant union or organization, as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
